I would also question the validity of methadone as effective treatment Almost anyone who has gone through it or helped another through it will tell you that methadone can be more addictive than heroin, can have a much rougher kick, and is more dangerous to withdrawal from. There are natural alternatives than can effectively remove opiate residues and metabolites from the body. However it is not a quick fix and must be worked for.

You are correct kayakotto. Methadone has been around a long time and has served a couple of good services for addiction but does fall short of obtaining the ultimate goal of being opiate free. It is also very inconvenient because patients must report to a clinic daily. Most patients are on a methadone maintenance treatment plan which just is a switch of drugs. it keeps the patient from committing criminal acts to get their fix and keeps them from having to go get their fix every few hours.
